This magnificent traditional Dogon granary wooden door is hand crafted presenting a cultural treasure of Mali’s African tribe. Created by skilled craftsmen, this impressive door features delicate and bold carving, sacred tribal symbolism, precision and accented abstract and representative decorative details. The door’s composition consists of parallel horizontal fields. Each field exhibits human figures which represent ancestral beings, as well as a sacred turtle figure that served to protect the entrance.
